LIVING NOW

Something entered

and struck a match

against my chest wall

and a fire was lit.

And what had struck

stayed

to tend the fire

that became

an unfading flame.

I am living now

with this constant

burning

and its widening

light.

I am unable now

to not see

from inside my heart.
